Acne isn’t just for teens. In fact, adults in their 20s, 30s, 40s—even into their 50s—can develop acne.¹ It’s even possible to get acne for the first time as an adult.² That’s what happened to Kathleen. After never having experienced acne as a teen, Kathleen started to break out at age 25. This is her story of how Obagi Nu-Derm® helped clear her skin and bring back the confidence she almost forgot she had.

Name: Kathleen
Age: 30 years old
Location: Florida

Primary Skin Concern: Acne
Current Skin Care Regimen: Obagi Nu-Derm System
3 Words to Describe My Obagi Experience: Intense, Consistent, Rewarding
Skin Care Advice: No matter which kit you use, stick with it, and always, always wear sunscreen.

My Story:
At the age of 25, my skin exploded. I had never had acne. Maybe a blemish here or there, but I got through my teens without a hiccup. In an attempt to control the acne, my doctor put me on antibiotics and hormones, but they didn’t work. Next, I tried facials and chemical peels, which would calm the acne down for a day or two but it would come right back. I even tried expensive IPL treatments with zero luck. And believe me when I say I bought every single over-the-counter item offered from Target® as well as department stores. Finally, I decided to commit to a medical-grade solution and give up on all the over-the-counter products I had been wasting my money on. Soon, I found Nu-Derm, and, with the help of my doctor, we decided that I needed a whole kit with Tretinoin* to see any real results. I chose Nu-Derm because it’s designed to correct and prevent, allowing me to be proactive in my collagen retention, treat my acne, and address my sun spots.

First I peeled a lot. I stuck with it though, and soon I could see the real me under all that acne. It took about 4 months to be acne-free. No longer did people give me advice about acne. I didn’t have to take medication or be on unnecessary hormone treatment. Having clear skin brought back a sense of confidence I forgot I had. Five years later, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
