Be Thankful for Healthy, Beautiful Skin

Getting together with family for Thanksgiving promises to bring great food and conversation but what if it could help provide your family with great skin, too? There are plenty of Thanksgiving dishes that can help improve the appearance of your complexion, and we’ve done the research so you don’t have to! If it’s your turn to be the host, knowing which foods can contribute to glowing, radiant skin will have your family walking out of your house feeling full and beautiful.

Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are packed full of the antioxidant beta carotene, which converts to Vitamin A in the body and may help defend against the visible signs of skin aging.1 The best part about sweet potatoes is that they’re already sweet so you can cut back on brown sugar and marshmallows. Not only will your skin thank you, but your waistline will appreciate it as well!

Although cranberries may be the side dish that divides the family, love ’em or not, there’s no denying that cranberries are a great source of antioxidants.2 The more antioxidants, the better for your skin!

And you thought we weren’t going to talk about dessert! Fresh and cooked pumpkin is chock-full of essential vitamins and nutrients for your skin. Among them, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, and, just as with sweet potatoes, beta carotene.3 Pumpkin can help you achieve a healthy glow all season long but be careful not to overindulge in pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.

A few simple food selections on Thanksgiving can help you continue to look your best as you enter the official start of the holiday season. Since you’re probably going to have leftovers, make sure you’ve made the right dishes to feed and help nourish your skin for the coming weeks.
