A smart start with lasting benefits
Antioxidants, which are found in many fruits and vegetables, should be an essential part of your diet. Antioxidants can help fight free radicals—tiny, unstable molecules that have been shown to cause damage at the cellular level. Did you know that blueberries rank very high as a natural source of antioxidants, greater than most other fruits and vegetables?1 And an extra benefit: you may even notice an energy boost from such a nutritious start to your day and find yourself exercising more!
In this recipe, yogurt provides protein, calcium, and good bacteria to aid digestion. Bananas are packed with potassium and slow-release sugar to sustain you throughout the day. Blueberries are also full of fiber and are low in sugar, so you may feel more satisfied longer, which can help you eat less. And finally, orange juice is a popular source of Vitamin C. Add more or less OJ, depending on how thick you want your smoothie. So drink up and enjoy knowing that nutritious foods like this smoothie can help keep you looking and feeling great!
