Obagi® Sunscreens at a Glance
Sunscreen is a summer staple, as it’s one of your best protections against the aging and damaging effects of the powerful UV rays of the sun.* Shopping around for the right one though, may seem a little complicated. There are different SPF strengths, physical sunscreens, chemical sunscreens - how do you choose?
Instead of hopping from store to store, or site to site, Obagi is your one stop shop when it comes to finding the right sunscreen for you. Not only do we offer a vast array for every skin type, we have written this blog to help you figure out which ones may be right for you!
If Your Skin Needs a Pick Me Up
You’ve probably never thought of sunscreen as a product to create a healthy-looking, glowing complexion while it protects, but with our tinted sunscreens, that’s just what you’ll get! Available in Cool and Warm shades, Sun Shield TINT Broad Spectrum SPF 50 will provide broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays as well as infrared defense, which helps to buffer the skin from heat-derived oxidative stress.
If Your Skin is Sensitive
If your skin is sensitive, we recommend Obagi Nu-Derm® Healthy Skin Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 35. This sunscreen with micronized zinc oxide and octinoxate can help to protect newly transformed skin, while still providing broad spectrum sun protection.
If Your Skin is Dry
Dry skin is never fun, but you shouldn’t have to struggle with it when there are great products out there to help you out! Obagi360® HydraFactor Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is a moisturizer and sunscreen in one to provide a dose of hydration and soothing ingredients, as well as UV protection.
If Your Skin is Oily
If your skin is oily, chances are you sometimes skip the moisturizer or sunscreen for fear of a greasy looking skin. Fortunately, with Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50, you can enjoy broad spectrum protection with no greasy feel or appearance, and a sheer elegant matte finish.
If You Want An Added Antioxidant
We don’t know many people who would turn down a chance to improve the appearance of the signs of skin aging while protecting their skin from the sun, and with Professional-C™ Suncare Broad Spectrum SPF 30, this is possible! While it protects, 10% L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) helps improve the appearance of the signs of skin aging.
If You Prefer Physical Sunscreen Ingredients
If you would prefer a sun protection product that deflects and scatters UV rays, rather than absorbing them, Obagi Nu-Derm® Physical SPF 32 or Sun Shield Mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 50 may be good fits for you. These may also be good options if your skin is on the sensitive side. As an added bonus, Sun Shield Mineral is water resistant for up to 40 minutes.
By now you’ve probably already figured out which sunscreen may be right for your skin. Ask your skin care professional about this particular sunscreen, and then it’s time to plan a day on the beach!
*Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or higher together with a comprehensive sun protection program including wearing sun protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, and avoiding the sun between the hours of 10am - 2pm may help reduce the risk of premature skin aging.
