Obagi’s Best Friends

Obagi staffers were recently asked to share stories and pictures of their furry friends. Read below, and try not to die from the cuteness!

Toby & Tyler (Michelle, Executive Sales Consultant)

The final additions to our family were Toby and Taylor, both littermates and a Lab/German Shepherd mix.   We rescued them from the animal shelter and adopted them when they were 8 weeks old, and these fur babies completed our family.

Pearl & Darcy (Karen, Executive Sales Consultant)

Pearl and Darcy are both rescues from the Foothills Golden Retriever Rescue in Hendersonville, NC. Pearl (on the left) came to us as a “Christmas Gift” two years ago after losing our 14-year-old Golden Retriever Dusty to cancer.  She has filled our hearts and our home with unconditional Golden Love.  She is happy every day and smiles constantly.

Darcy (on right) came to us a few months ago with seizures. We hunted high and low for a cure and thought it was a disk problem in her neck.  After seeking a second opinion, we found out it was Epilepsy.

We are now treating her with an epileptic drug, and she hasn’t had a seizure in 3 weeks!  She has brought that “Golden Spirit” into our home, as well, and her and Pearl are bonding every day.

“There is something to be said about a dog…   You think dogs will not be in Heaven?  I tell you, they will be there long before any of us.” Paul Louis Stevenson

Parker (Kelly, Marketing Communications Manager)

Since the day I adopted Parker, I knew we were going to be best friends. And, as with any best friend, I wanted to find fun activities for us to share. I discovered Agility, which is a competition dog sport in which people lead their dogs through a numbered obstacle course of sorts – made up of jumps, tunnels, teeter-totters, weave poles, etc.  When we started trying it, I could tell Parker loved it! He was SO fast and just loved going to class each week. We trained for 2 years before competing, and we have recently moved up to the 3rd level of competition! We have such a blast, and it’s such a fun way to bond with my pup. Agility has made us a great team – on and off the field!

Lucas (Carlos, Medical Sales Consultant Puerto Rico)

Lucas was rescued on Dec 31, 2012. He was very hurt, and my sons Carlos Augusto and Ignacio Alberto decided to take care of him, bathe him, take him to the vet, and adopt him.

Lucas is 5 years old now and has brought a lot of happiness to our home. He is a great dog, obedient, funny, and a very loving pet. He is part of the family, and we are happy our sons gave Lucas a place where he can be loved!!! Every morning or night I have the duty call to walk him (this was not included in the original contract!). But in the end, Lucas is like another son to my wife and me!!

Jack (Ophelia, Professional Sales Consultant)

My little guy Jack was an adoption from a vet clinic in my previous line of work in Veterinary Sales. He was left with one of the technicians when a family could no longer take care of him. The technician tried to adopt him, but one of her dogs didn’t like him. I guess third time is a charm because, as his 3rd owner, he found his “furever” home! He went through 3 names as well: Oreo, Sparky, and his current name Jack! He is super sweet and gets along with all people, dogs, kids, and babies. Two of our 1-year-old daughter’s first words were “Jack” and “Dog.” I cannot imagine life without him, and he is definitely thought of as one of our children!

Carter and Brandy (Tracey, Professional Sales Consultant)

Carter is a Snoodle(Schnauzer Poodle mix). Brandy is the Miniature Poodle.

They are best friends!

In 2010, I inherited Brandy when my mother, Kay, passed away from her hard fought battle with Cancer. He is now my best friend, and I could not imagine my life without him.

Carter is a shelter dog that my wife rescued in 2011 just before we started dating.  Once Carter and Brandy met, it was clear they liked each other; and from that initial meeting, it was clear that my wife and I could continue dating because – as any single person with a pet knows – your pet has to get along with your potential mate.  Well, needless to say, it has been 4 years since my wife and I met and almost two years since we have been married.  And it would not have been possible had these two sweet boys not liked each other and been destined to be best friends…just like my wife and I.
