7 Surprising Ways You May Be Aging Your Skin

Signs of aging skin

When it comes to keeping your skin radiant and youthful-looking, your go-to is probably a good skincare range of products. While we certainly recommend good quality skincare products to address the appearance of skin aging, you may be surprised to learn that it's just one factor, out of many, that contributes to a more youthful-looking complexion.

Keep reading to learn more about what may be aging your skin, and how you can counteract these factors so you can enjoy the glowing, healthy-looking skin you deserve!

1. Skimping on the SPF

Many of us reserve the SPF for our beach tote, when we'll be lounging seaside for a few hours, but the sun's rays are just as strong whether you're on the beach or in your car.

If there's one thing you can do every day to help prevent premature skin aging, it would be applying a broad spectrum SPF of at least 30, either alone or under your makeup.* Don't forget your neck and ears, as well as your hands, which are actually one of the first areas to give your age away!

Check out our sunscreen range here.

2. Not drinking enough water

Okay okay, you've heard this one enough, but then why aren't you doing it? We get that water can be a little boring, and you'd rather be sipping on an iced coffee, but water is essential for hydrating your skin and body from the inside out. A lack of water will dehydrate your skin and put you at risk for dryness, which can eventually result in fine lines and wrinkles.

To spruce up your water, try a refreshing spa water recipe with some fruit,**and be sure to share with your friends!

3. Sleeping on your stomach

You may be shaking your head in confusion at this one, but sleeping on your stomach or on your side can increase your chances of getting wrinkles. If you've ever woken up with a "sleep wrinkle" after spending the night with your face pressed into your pillow, then you know what we mean. Over time, these temporary wrinkles may decide to stick around.

Try sleeping on your back, and ensure your face is deeply hydrated before hitting the sheets. This allows your face to move around more freely with less risk of developing wrinkles.

4. Spending too much time on the couch

We all love a good movie binge, but making it a habit to lounge on the couch, rather than getting in your workout, can take a toll not only on your health, but on the appearance of your skin.

When you work out, you increase circulation in your skin, which helps to keep it luminous and glowing. A good workout may also help you sleep better, which allows body tissues, including the skin, to renew and repair.

You don't need heavy gym equipment to benefit either! Just 30 minutes of low impact exercise such as walking is all you need to get started on a healthier path. Aim for at least four times a week.

5. Using the wrong products

Many people assume they know their skin type, but without having your skin assessed by a skin care professional, how can you really be sure? Just because you break out, doesn’t mean you have an oily complexion; it could mean you have combination skin. So if you use products aimed at drying up your blemishes, they may affect areas that actually need more moisture and vice versa.

Often, skin issues can easily be remedied by making the switch to products targeted towards your specific skin type. Here’s a guide on the 5 factors that determine skin type, and a skin care professional can help you find yours. You can then start a new skin care routine, and achieve the results you deserve.

6. Leaving your makeup on at night

Don’t feel too bad if this sounds familiar, but just try to not make it a habit. Sleeping with your makeup on can dry out your skin and expose it to free radicals, which are the skin’s worst enemy when it comes to aging. Makeup can also clog your pores, so you may wake up with an annoying blemish or two, as well as an overall dull complexion.

Keep some makeup wipes next to your bed for when cleansing your face is simply not an option. Otherwise, we highly recommend our cleansers that work to remove makeup and impurities, while still maintaining your skin’s delicate moisture balance.

7. Eating unhealthy foods

Last, but not least, that old saying “you are what you eat” couldn’t be more true. The proof is in your state of health and the appearance of your skin. Fill your body with processed, fatty foods, and your skin will look dull and age quicker. But fill your body with fresh, whole foods rich in healthy fats, nutrients, and antioxidants, and be amazed at how your complexion will appear luminous and more youthful.

If you follow these tips, you will see a difference in your skin. The trick is to keep up with them and have lots of patience, but the results are well and truly worth it!

Let us know in the comments below if you have any additional lifestyle tips that help maintain healthy-looking skin.

*Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or higher together with a comprehensive sun protection program including wearing sun protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, and avoiding the sun between the hours of 10am - 2pm may help reduce the risk of premature skin aging.

Exfoderm VS Exfoderm Forte: Which One for My Skin?

Exfoderm VS Exfoderm Forte: Which One for My Skin?

From sugar scrubs to salt scrubs, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), choosing a facial exfoliator can be challenging with all the different options out there! So which one should you use?

The type of exfoliator used should be based on skin type, sensitivity of skin, and frequency of use. It’s best to visit a skin care professional to get an accurate skin assessment and a recommended protocol.

If your skin is in need of lightweight, daily exfoliation, you should ask your skin care professional about one of our Exfoderm® products. These exfoliating lotions work to remove dead skin and other debris that could be contributing to a dull, lackluster complexion. Not only will your skin look more radiant, but these products can also help to smooth uneven skin texture, resulting in an overall healthier-looking complexion. These exfoliators are absorbed into the skin, leaving a smooth, silky finish.

You may be wondering why there are two Exfoderm options. The answer is simple - one is for normal to dry skin and the other is for normal to oily skin. They also contain different key exfoliating ingredients. Read on to learn more about the differences and benefits of each product.

Exfoderm

Exfoderm is recommended for dry or sensitive skin types. The greatest benefit of this lightweight lotion is its ability to promote natural skin cell turnover, helping to achieve a more youthful-looking, rejuvenated complexion. It exfoliates effectively, yet gently, removing impurities and promoting a brighter complexion.

The key ingredient is 6% phytic acid, which is a gentler acid that’s responsible for exfoliating the skin. Glycerin soothes the skin and provides deep hydration to minimize irritation.

Apply this lotion in the morning, and follow with a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

Exfoderm Forte*

Exfoderm Forte is recommended for oiler skin types, as it contains the following AHA key ingredients: 6% glycolic acid and 4% and lactic acid. These AHAs deeply exfoliate the skin, reduce oiliness and blemishes, and smooth uneven skin texture. They also minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. Exfoderm Forte also contains glycerin to soothe and hydrate the skin.

Apply this product in the morning, and follow with a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

We hope this blog helped clear things up a bit (no pun intended). The good news is that no matter what skin type you have, one of these products will work for you. If you already use one of the Exfoderm exfoliators, let us know which one and please share how it’s working for you!

*Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

A Guide to Obagi® Cleansers

Obagi cleansers

How many times have you skipped the cleanser, opting for a makeup wipe instead, only to find that your skin starts to look a little dull after a few times of doing this?

Don't worry, we've all been there. But if you can start to make cleansing part of your daily skin care ritual, your skin will reward you!

Why is cleansing important?

Cleansing is essential for removing dirt and grime that may have accumulated throughout the day. It helps clear clogged pores, keeping skin looking healthy and free from impurities. It's also the first step in a skin care regimen, and really sets a good foundation for the products that follow. Cleansing should be done morning and night, and always followed up with a good toner.

Keep reading to learn which of our cleansers may be suitable for you!

CLENZIderm M.D. Daily Care Foaming Cleanser

This one should be your go-to if you suffer from acne breakouts. This cleanser is lightweight, yet penetrates into the pores to remove dirt, oil, and debris. Salicylic acid (2%) helps to unclog pores without over-drying, while menthol provides cooling and soothing relief. Foaming properties help to wash away dead skin cells that may have accumulated in the pores, leaving skin feeling clean and refreshed.

Obagi Nu-Derm® Gentle Cleanser

Gentle Cleanser is designed for normal to dry skin, or sensitive skin, thanks to its mild and gentle ingredients. Glycerin, apricot kernel oil, and herb extracts provide gentle hydration and beautiful nourishment to the skin, while aloe helps to soothe irritation. This cleanser will leave skin feeling balanced with just the right amount of hydration.

Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel

This gel-based cleanser is formulated for normal to oily skin. It removes excess oil without stripping the skin of essential oils, and removes any impurities or makeup, leaving nothing but clean and healthy-looking skin. It also contains aloe and herb extracts, key ingredients that will leave the skin feeling soothed, soft, and smooth!

Obagi-C® C-Cleansing Gel

Brighter and healthier-looking skin is yours for the taking with this cleanser! It is infused with L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), and contains aloe, which will provide wonderful soothing hydration. This gel-based formula will clarify your skin, leaving it purified and refreshed.

Obagi360® Exfoliating Cleanser

This cleanser provides effective, yet gentle, exfoliation to keep your pores open and ready for any other products you may apply. Papaya fruit acids and biodegradable beads provide excellent exfoliation properties to reveal a soft, smooth, and radiant complexion.

Gentle Rejuvenation Soothing Cleanser

The name says it all! Daily use of this cleanser will help hydrate your dry skin with gentle apricot oil. Aloe will soothe dry, irritated skin. With dry skin, it's important to use a product that will effectively remove dirt without affecting the skin's natural moisture barrier, and this cleanser does just that! Your skin will feel soft, soothed, and hydrated.

Tips when cleansing

When cleansing your skin, always be sure to apply with clean hands, and to rinse with lukewarm water. Hot water will strip the skin of necessary oils, while lukewarm water will protect the skin's natural moisture barrier.

Pat your skin dry with a clean towel before following up with your other products.

Also, be sure to cleanse twice a day, and don’t rely on makeup wipes for your daily cleansing ritual.

Obagi® Sunscreens at a Glance

06.12.2017, 9:46 CDT | Posted In: Sensitive Skin, Dry Skin, Prevention & Protection, Signs of Aging, Health & Beauty, Products, Skin Care

Obagi sunscreens

Sunscreen is a summer staple, as it’s one of your best protections against the aging and damaging effects of the powerful UV rays of the sun.* Shopping around for the right one though, may seem a little complicated. There are different SPF strengths, physical sunscreens, chemical sunscreens - how do you choose?

Instead of hopping from store to store, or site to site, Obagi is your one stop shop when it comes to finding the right sunscreen for you. Not only do we offer a vast array for every skin type, we have written this blog to help you figure out which ones may be right for you!

If Your Skin Needs a Pick Me Up

You’ve probably never thought of sunscreen as a product to create a healthy-looking, glowing complexion while it protects, but with our tinted sunscreens, that’s just what you’ll get! Available in Cool and Warm shades, Sun Shield TINT Broad Spectrum SPF 50 will provide broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays as well as infrared defense, which helps to buffer the skin from heat-derived oxidative stress.

If Your Skin is Sensitive

If your skin is sensitive, we recommend Obagi Nu-Derm® Healthy Skin Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 35. This sunscreen with micronized zinc oxide and octinoxate can help to protect newly transformed skin, while still providing broad spectrum sun protection.

If Your Skin is Dry

Dry skin is never fun, but you shouldn’t have to struggle with it when there are great products out there to help you out! Obagi360® HydraFactor Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is a moisturizer and sunscreen in one to provide a dose of hydration and soothing ingredients, as well as UV protection.

If Your Skin is Oily

If your skin is oily, chances are you sometimes skip the moisturizer or sunscreen for fear of a greasy looking skin. Fortunately, with Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50, you can enjoy broad spectrum protection with no greasy feel or appearance, and a sheer elegant matte finish.

If You Want An Added Antioxidant

We don’t know many people who would turn down a chance to improve the appearance of the signs of skin aging while protecting their skin from the sun, and with Professional-C™ Suncare Broad Spectrum SPF 30, this is possible! While it protects, 10% L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) helps improve the appearance of the signs of skin aging.

If You Prefer Physical Sunscreen Ingredients

If you would prefer a sun protection product that deflects and scatters UV rays, rather than absorbing them, Obagi Nu-Derm® Physical SPF 32 or Sun Shield Mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 50 may be good fits for you. These may also be good options if your skin is on the sensitive side. As an added bonus, Sun Shield Mineral is water resistant for up to 40 minutes.

By now you’ve probably already figured out which sunscreen may be right for your skin. Ask your skin care professional about this particular sunscreen, and then it’s time to plan a day on the beach!

*Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or higher together with a comprehensive sun protection program including wearing sun protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, and avoiding the sun between the hours of 10am - 2pm may help reduce the risk of premature skin aging.

6 Awesome Staycation Ideas

06.01.2017, 15:35 CDT | Posted In: Health & Beauty

tent in back yard

Summer is around the corner, and this means many people are planning their holiday vacations to various destinations.

Instead of feeling pressured to fork out extra money this year to jet off to that tropical vacation, why not save some bucks, and try the awesome staycation ideas below? Instead of a one or two week vacation, you can have fun all summer long right in your own home!

Have A Tech Free Day

In this era of all things technology, it may be hard to put down that phone or look away from the computer screen, but you’ll thank us if you do!

You may be stressed out from your phone and your laptop without even realizing it, until you take a break from them. As humans, we weren’t designed to spend all of our time glued to screens, scrolling mindlessly through endless social media apps, and comparing ourselves and our lives to other people we have never even met.

We understand that in 2017 it can be a little tricky to avoid the computer and phone altogether, but you can certainly choose how much time to spend on these devices. We doubt that your boss encourages you to spend half an hour scrolling through Instagram!

So for a stress-free day, where you can just be yourself and spend time by yourself or with your family, we encourage you to turn off your phone and your laptop for at least 12 hours. Encourage your family to do the same, and you may be surprised at how much fun you end up having.

Go Camping...In Your Backyard

No, we aren’t crazy. Try this one and we promise you’ll have fun! Going camping is great, until you think about the mosquitos, the lack of a shower, and of course, the gas money required to get to your destination.

By camping out with friends or family in your backyard, you can enjoy all the perks of being in nature, but without the extra cost and small inconveniences.

Bring Out Your Inner Child

Ever wish you could be a child again, just for a day, so that you can enjoy the freedom of no responsibilities, and just do whatever you would like?

Well, why can’t you?

Why not dedicate a whole day to just doing whatever your heart desires? Grab your kids, or your nieces and nephews, your best friend or even your dog, and indulge in mile high ice-cream cones, try your hand at adult coloring, or run outside barefoot. What’s life about if you can’t completely let loose now and then?

Try new Things

Life should never be boring, and the best way to ensure it never is, is to always try your hand at new things. Most of us will always talk about how we would love to learn a new language, or play an instrument without ever really giving it a go.

By staying home this summer, you can dedicate at least a little bit of time each day to something new that will get your creative juices flowing and leave you feeling fulfilled and ready for more!

Put On Your Chef Hat

Another awesome staycation idea is to create a 3 course meal at home! Get your family involved, even print out some fun menus, and make a night of it! You might want to invite friends or family over so that no one feels left out.

If you feel a little out of your depth, simply check out Pinterest, which is brimming with recipes, all of which are simple to make, but taste like they come from a top restaurant!

Enjoy A Movie Marathon

We couldn’t leave this one out. What could be more fun on a quiet Summer day than a day dedicated to your favorite movies (Netflix shows count too!)? So get comfy, make some popcorn, throw in some movie candy (we aren’t judging), and settle down for a day of rest and relaxation in front of the telly because you earned it!

Feel free to share any other fun staycation ideas you have in the comments below!

Reasons To Use A Body Smoothing Lotion

05.15.2017, 9:41 CDT | Posted In: Dry Skin, Texture, Health & Beauty, Products, Skin Care

Reasons To Use A Body Smoothing Lotion

We focus so much on our facial skin that we often forget about the skin on the body. If you have rough and bumpy skin on your arms and/or legs, and have heard that your best bet is just a moisturizer, then you need to keep reading!

While regular body moisturizers are great for adding hydration, if you are applying them to scaly skin then you aren’t likely to see great results. A body smoothing lotion on the other hand, contains ingredients that will slough off dead skin cells, revealing radiant new skin, while adding hydration at the same time.

Keep reading to learn more about a key ingredient in our newest product, KèraPhine™ Body Smoothing Lotion that may make significant improvements in the texture, feel and appearance of your skin!

What Is Glycolic Acid?

A key ingredient in our KèraPhine Body Smoothing Lotion is glycolic acid, at a concentration of 15%.* Glycolic acid is part of a group of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and is originally derived from sugar cane, although synthesized in labs for skincare products. Out of all the AHAs, glycolic acid has the smallest particles allowing them to penetrate the skin where they help exfoliate dead skin cells that sit and accumulate on the skin's surface.1  KèraPhine Body Smoothing Lotion also contains 5% ammonium lactate, which is the ammonium salt of lactic acid (an AHA), and it works as a moisturizer to help address scaly skin.

What Are the Benefits of Glycolic Acid for My Skin?

Glycolic acid can have some excellent benefits for the skin. Because it penetrates the skin and provides exfoliation, it can smooth rough and bumpy skin to help restore healthy-looking skin.1

Usage Tips

Always Use Sunscreen with SPF 30 or More

AHAs make the skin more sensitive, so wearing a high SPF daily is essential. It is recommended that you avoid all sun exposure while using this product, as well as up to a week afterwards.

Do Not Use On Damaged Skin

Avoid using a glycolic acid product on damaged skin, as it can cause irritation.

If you’re fed up of skin that is rough, bumpy, or scaly, ask your skin care physician about KèraPhine Body Smoothing Lotion.

Show Mom Some Love With Obagi

04.11.2017, 16:37 CDT | Posted In: Acne & Blemishes, Dry Skin, Eye Area, Prevention & Protection, Signs of Aging, Health & Beauty, Products, Skin Care

Mother's day graphic

Mother’s Day will arrive before you know it, so instead of rushing around at the last minute for that “perfect bouquet,” why not prepare early this year, and make sure you treat mom to something she can truly enjoy and appreciate more than any box of chocolates or bouquet of flowers?

Every woman deserves the gift of excellent skin care, and Mom perhaps more than anyone. After all, how many times did Mom lose sleep over your late nights as a teenager, or get that small forehead wrinkle from when you brought home your first girlfriend or boyfriend? Mom was there through it all, so why not show your appreciation by treating her to one of these thoughtful and much-needed gifts?

For The Eyes

The eyes are the first area to show the signs of aging, as the skin around the eyes is the thinnest skin on the body. Mom is more than likely to have a few fine lines and wrinkles around her eyes, and perhaps some under-eye puffiness too, from those late nights worrying about you!

Our ELASTderm® Eye products contain clinically proven ingredients to refresh the appearance around the eyes for firmer-, smoother-looking skin.

For the Look of Aging Skin

As we age, our skin becomes drier and begins to show the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, therefore requiring more concentrated products to help address these concerns. Our absolute favorite antioxidant to help brighten the skin, retain moisture, and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is Vitamin C. If Mom’s skin needs a pick-me-up, then look no further than our Professional-C™ products, formulated with Vitamin C to perk up not only Mom’s skin, but her spirits too!

For Hydration

Hydration is key to youthful-, radiant-looking skin, and a lack of it will show up as lackluster skin that is more prone to the appearance of aging. A lightweight moisturizer just won’t cut it, but our Obagi Hydrate® moisturizers reduce water loss with innovative Hydromanil Technology that delivers long-lasting moisture for up to 8 hours.

For Sun Protection

Sunscreen is one skincare product every person should wear on a daily basis. The sun is skin’s worst enemy, so be sure to help Mom protect hers with one of our broad-spectrum, dermatologist-tested sunscreens.* With a sunscreen for every skin type, you are sure to find one that’s perfect for Mom... and perhaps yourself!

If You Aren’t Sure

If you aren’t sure what to choose, are torn between a couple of products, or would prefer to let Mom pick for herself, then contact one of our authorized resellers and inquire about an Obagi gift certificate, so that you can be sure Mom loves her gift.

For Some Extra Pampering

Another wonderful gift idea to show Mom some hands-on love, is to find an Obagi provider near you, and treat Mom to an in-office treatment that will leave her floating on air. Treat Mom to one of our signature Blue Peel® treatments performed by professionally-trained specialists to help reveal younger-, healthier-looking skin one layer at a time, or a customized Obagi Facial to cleanse, hydrate, and revitalize the look of her skin, so that it glows for days!

If you take our advice, you will be on the nice list all year. Go on, treat Mom, because she deserves it!

We’ve all been there…

While getting ready for a special occasion, we reach for a beauty product that isn’t part of our normal routine. You know, the glittery navy blue eyeliner or that tube of extra lash plumping mascara. Maybe you reach for a special shade of sparkly lip-gloss that you don’t wear often. Then BOOM! You apply a dried out, goopy product to your freshly clean face. That is the worst right?

We’re here to remind you that this time of year is a good one for Spring cleaning, and not just our clothes closets, but our bathroom drawers and cabinets too.

It’s a great time of year to throw out those old skin care products that sit there cluttering up your precious space, and let’s be honest: you probably don’t even remember the last time that you used them. Remember, beauty products do go bad!

Read on to find out the main reasons that you know it’s time to throw a skin care product out, and get tossing!

Expired

Unopened beauty products have a longer shelf life, but once opened, their expiration date speeds up since they have been exposed to oxygen and toxins in the environment.

It is best to toss liquid products after a year of being open and powder products after two years. Mascara has a shelf life of three to four months, and should be frequently replaced because it can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Lipstick should be tossed after a year and gloss after six months.1 SPF products should be replaced yearly after open, as their effectiveness significantly decreases over time.

Color has Changed

Over time the color of a skincare product can change indicating a change in its chemical makeup or possibly indicating that unwanted agents have contaminated it. It is best to get rid of these products immediately, and you also don’t want to accidentally apply the wrong shade!

Been Open for Over a Year

When a product has been open for over a year, its purity and quality are very likely to have degraded. Exposure to oxygen introduces particles to the formulation that can change the makeup of the product or even promote harmful bacteria growth. When in doubt, toss it out!

Change in Texture and Consistency

When their texture and consistency have changed, it is sometimes best to toss your beloved products. This is because they may no longer apply evenly and can therefore leave you with unwanted variations in appearance.

No Longer Serves its Purpose in Springtime

Springtime is time for skin rejuvenation. You might want to think about switching your heavy moisturizer for a lighter lotion, since skin will not tend to be so dry in the warmer months.

Above all else, there is no better feeling than a fresh skin care area or bag with little clutter and fresh products. Why not start off the Springtime with your best foot forward and a fresh face?

Prepare Your Skin For Winter With These Top Tips

woman's face, winter day

The New Year is finally here and that means we are right in the midst of Winter too. Being the coldest time of year with plummeting temperatures, this prevents many of us from leaving the warmth of indoor heating.

If you love being outdoors during the frosty season, you know that your skin is subject to harsh, drying effects from the cold, bitter air. But did you know that even indoor heating can take a toll on your skin?

This can get frustrating because whether you are indoors or outdoors, you just don’t seem to win when it comes to keeping your skin hydrated. This, however, is where you are wrong.

There are a few ways that you can amp up the moisture levels in your skin so that you can enjoy all the season has to offer without dealing with dry, flakey skin.

Follow these tips to enjoy hydrated skin that feels soothed and has a beautiful glow whether you choose to snuggle up on the couch or hit the slopes!

Moisturize

This tip may seem obvious, but you’ll be surprised how many people skip the moisturizer as they just don’t realize the benefits.

Whether your skin is oily or dry, a good moisturizer is essential to not only hydrate your skin, but to add a protective barrier that helps shield the skin against harsh weather conditions.

Apply a good moisturizer morning and night, and even reapply if you spend loads of time outdoors.

Choosing a moisturizer can be tricky, but here at Obagi we have various ones suited to your specific skin care needs.

Our Obagi Hydrate® provides 8 hour moisturization with innovative technology and all natural ingredients including avocado oil, shea butter, and mango butter.

Our Obagi Hydrate Luxe® provides ultra-rich, overnight moisturization and includes key biomimetic peptides that complements the body’s natural biorhythms for a rejuvenated-looking complexion.

As the name suggests, our Gentle Rejuvenation Advanced Night Repair does its job while you sleep, adding deep hydration to combat wrinkles.

If your skin is very oily and prone to breakouts, then our CLENZIderm M.D.™ Therapeutic Moisturizer is just what you need.

Drink Up

The last thing you may want to do when it’s cold out, is sip on water all day, but a lack of hydration internally, will show up externally as dry, dull, and flakey skin.

You don’t have to drink cold water to boost your hydration though! Herbal teas count towards your water content for the day, so take a break from caffeine and sugary drinks, and treat your body to a comforting mug of herbal tea. There are endless varieties so you are sure to find one that tickles your tastebuds!

Invest in a Humidifier

If you have no idea what a humidifier is, you’ll want to know after learning how it can benefit your skin!

Humidifiers simply shoot a continual stream of moisture into the air, helping to put moisture back that may have been lost through artificial heating. This is a simple way to hydrate your skin without putting in any effort.

The bonus of humidifiers is that you can add essential oils into them. Add peppermint if you need to focus or lavender to help you relax at night. There’s an essential oil for every mood!

Follow these simple tips to help you enjoy a happier, hydrated skin in no time at all. Do you have any tips for Winter skin that are not mentioned here? Feel free to share in the comments below!
