Obagi Nu-Derm® System

It took me a long time to be comfortable with myself, growing up in a country where dark skin is not considered as attractive as fair skin. Now that I am older, I have never been any happier with how I look. I am proud to say that I have not had any surgery nor wear heavy make-up, yet people think I am 15 years younger than I really am. I have used Obagi since 2000 and I can’t imagine using anything else. I attribute my success to hard work, my friends, my family, and my faith in God...the way my skin looks, it’s because of Obagi.

The safety and effectiveness of the Nu-Derm System beyond 24 weeks of use have not been established.

Obagi Ambassador Michelle’s Inspiring Life Transformation

Michelle M. Obagi April Ambassador, Product Testimonial

Aging gracefully is as much about a can-do attitude as it is about taking care of our body, mind, and skin. That’s why we’re so excited to announce the newest face of Obagi, Michelle Milionis. After 18 years as a preschool teacher, Michelle made a bold and inspiring decision to become a police officer. That’s no small accomplishment! The transformation allowed her to see herself in a new light and to make a change in the appearance of her skin as well.

Name:
Michelle Milionis

Obagi® Products Used:
Obagi-C® Rx System
ELASTIderm® Eye Products
Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (included in the Obagi-C Rx System)

About Michelle:
I have been married for 23 years and I have an adult daughter who lives at home and two teenage sons. I sometimes pull a “hookie” day for the kids and take them to the beach or some place fun for the day. I call them “adventures” which sometimes end up not going as planned but we laugh about it later. Sometimes following the GPS for the shortest or alternate route is not always good. I spend time at the gym mostly lifting weights and I do some cardio. I mainly focus on being strong as it is a benefit with my job. I have competed in sprint triathlons and half marathons. I get bored easily so I always have to have a goal to reach to keep me focused.

My Obagi Story:
Exactly one year ago, at the age of 43, I went from being a preschool teacher of 18 years to a police officer. It has been one of the toughest years I can remember with the testing and training, but I did it. It is not uncommon in this field to see men in their 40’s change their career path but it is almost unheard of for a woman to become a police officer in her 40’s. About that same time I took a good look at the sun damage and wrinkles beginning to form on my face and decided I needed a new complexion to go along with the new job.

I have been using Obagi-C Rx system for approximately 2 months and I cannot believe the difference in the appearance of my skin. My husband cannot believe the difference and my squad mates don’t believe me when I tell them my age. My skin glows and the sun spots are gone. I used the Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50 last summer during the long, hot, 10-hour shifts and it has kept the sun spots from coming back.* I will not use anything else from now on but Obagi. Individual results may vary. The safety and effectiveness of the Obagi-C Rx System beyond 12 weeks of use have not been established. If no improvement is seen after 3 months of treatment, use of this product should be discontinued.

We also asked Michelle some fun questions to get to know her better.

Tell us a fun fact about you:
I LOVE to watch NASCAR!! I have been to a couple of races and there is something about the sound of the engines, the smell of the fuel and the control the drivers have of the car at 180 mph. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is my driver.

What would you consider your biggest achievement?
Some of my greatest achievements [are that I was] awarded scholarships for playing basketball at the collegiate level, raising three amazing children, being married for 23 years, [and] teaching pre-K for 20 years then becoming a police officer.

We are proud to introduce the latest addition to our Obagi family, the Gentle Rejuvenation System. This system is Obagi’s first-ever professional skin care line formulated specifically for people with sensitive skin.

Just as the name suggests, the Gentle Rejuvenation System provides a gentle solution to rejuvenating your skin to address signs of premature aging. The Gentle Rejuvenation System offers ingredients that are designed to address the signs of mild aging in patients with sensitive skin such as the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, rough texture, sun damaged skin, dull skin, dehydrated skin, and blotchiness. The key ingredients in this system are proven effective:

  • Zeatin has been shown to improve skin’s roughness by 86%1
  • Kinetin increases skin’s ability to retain moisture by 26% over 24 weeks2

The system contains 4 essential products to cleanse, calm, correct, and protect sensitive skin.

  • Soothing Cleanser gently removes makeup and everyday impurities for a clean, fresh complexion while soothing skin
  • Skin Calming Cream with plant-derived growth factors Kinetin and Zeatin to improve texture, tone, and blotchiness in sensitive skin affected by the sun
  • Advanced Night Repair packed with peptides to improve the appearance of fine lines, deep wrinkles, rough texture,  tone, resiliency, dehydration, and brightness
  • Fortified Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 with Vitamin C to help protect your skin against the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays

The Gentle Rejuvenation line also offers 4 complementary products that may be used with the system:

  • Skin Rejuvenating Serum includes rare Swiss apple stem cell extract to help complement skin’s natural cellular turnover
  • Skin Calming Lotion to diminish redness, itching, burning, and stinging that are common in compromised skin
  • Ultra- Light Repair SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream for multitasking sun protection, moisturization, and help in correcting visible signs of photoaging
  • Ultra-Rich Eye Hydrating Cream to improve the appearance of wrinkles around the delicate eye area

If you have sensitive skin, are pregnant, nursing, have allergies or are sensitive to hydroquinone, or are not yet ready for more aggressive skin care therapies, ask your skin care physician if the Gentle Rejuvenation System is right for you.

How It Works

Nu-Derm Transforms Your Skin From the Inside Out

Skin aging is a natural process, but daily sun exposure can contribute to premature aging. Sun-damaged skin appears dull, with older, damaged cells accumulating due to slower skin cell turnover.

The Nu-Derm System helps transform the skin’s appearance by reducing darks spots, revealing younger, healthier-looking skin.

Nu-Derm is ideal if you have:

  • Age spots
  • Rough skin
  • Erythema (redness)
  • Sallowness (yellowish complexion)
  • Hyperpigmentation (discoloration)

Real Results

Transform the look of your skin with a clinically proven hyperpigmentation system that corrects unwanted age spots and significantly lightens the look of your skin.1,†

The safety and effectivemess of the system has not been evaluated beyond 24 weeks. If there is no improvement after 12 weeks, please discontinue use of the system. See below for Important Safety Information.

“We have used the Obagi Nu-Derm skin care system for 17 years, and I have not found any other system that is comparable to the excellent results for rejuvenating and maintaining healthy skin.”

Jody Comstock, MD
Founder/Physician
Skin Spectrum, Tucson, AZ

“I really didn’t like the texture of my skin, my pore size, and I had a lot of hyperpigmentation. I was a little intimidated to have to use so many products and have to buy into some sort of system. I was skeptical. But all I can say is WOW! What a transformation.”

Paige
Orinda, CA

“I started the Obagi [Nu-Derm] System about 2 weeks ago to improve melasma on my face after my dermatologist recommended that I try it.

“WOW! In only 2 weeks, most of my melasma has improved and the really tough spots I've had for years are noticeably faded!* I am so delighted with your product! Even the redness and peeling (which I was warned ahead of time would happen) were very manageable.

“Some women in my office approached me the other day to ask what I was doing to my skin because it looked so smooth and radiant. I was floored! Again, thank you.”

Christine
Bedford, NH

“My name is Maria and I am writing you to tell you how Obagi has changed my life. The brand was introduced to me by a friend about 2 and a half years ago when I mentioned how frustrated I was with the freckles and dark spots on my face, which became bigger and darker after pregnancy. She specifically recommended the Obagi Nu-Derm® system. She told me how well it had worked for her and her sisters, and told me to look up ‘Obagi before and after’ on the Internet. I was very impressed with what I saw, and immediately consulted with a physician and purchased the Obagi Nu-Derm kit for normal to dry skin.

I think that a picture is worth more than a thousand words, so I will let you judge the results. I have been using the Obagi Nu-Derm system ever since (on and off) and I literally will not use anything else because why waste my money when I already have the absolute best product there is? When I show my friends my before and after pictures, they cannot believe it, and I am paying it forward now by being the one that recommends this amazing product to others!” [The safety and effectiveness of the Obagi Nu-Derm System beyond 24 weeks of use have not been established. If no improvement is seen after three (3) months of treatment, use of this product should be discontinued. See below for Important Safety Information about the Obagi Nu-Derm system.]

You can’t argue with that proof! Thank you for sharing your story with us, Maria, and for having the courage to show other women that they don’t need to live with hyperpigmentation.

If you’re currently dealing with hyperpigmentation, ask your physician if the Obagi Nu-Derm system may be right for your skin, and, you never know, you may just be our next testimonial!

“After I had kids, I developed melasma. The older I got, the worse it got. I am outdoors all the time, and it would get worse in the summer. This summer, I was determined to help control the melasma by applying sunscreen on my face constantly. Unfortunately, it did not seem to work.

In the past, I had tried over the counter products and spent a ton of money, but saw no results. Finally, I decided to make an appointment with a local medical spa. They introduced me to the Obagi Nu Derm system. I was hesitant at first, but decided to go for it since it contains prescription-strength products.

I was told that I probably wouldn't see any results for about 4 weeks. I have followed the regimen now for over 6 weeks. In the first week, I noticed a big difference, but by week 6, my skin looks amazing. I was hesitant on showing my before picture because of how bad I looked, but then I realized that I am not the only one that suffers from sun damage or the curse of melasma. THERE is help!!! Thank you Obagi!” [The safety and effectiveness of the Obagi Nu-Derm System beyond 24 weeks of use have not been established. If no improvement is seen after three (3) months of treatment, use of this product should be discontinued. See below for Important Safety Information about the Obagi Nu-Derm system.]

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR OBAGI NU-DERM CLEAR AND BLENDER®

(Contain prescription 4% hydroquinone)

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

People with prior history of sensitivity or allergic reaction to this product or any of its ingredients should not use it. The safety of topical hydroquinone use during pregnancy or in children (12 years and under) has not been established.

WARNINGS:

Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or lips. In case of accidental contact, patient should rinse eyes, nose, mouth, or lips with water and contact physician.

Sunscreen use is an essential aspect of hydroquinone therapy because even minimal sunlight exposure sustains melanocytic activity. Contains sodium metabisulfite, a sulfite that may cause allergic-type reactions including anaphylactic symptoms and life-threatening or less severe asthmatic episodes in certain susceptible people. The overall prevalence of sulfite sensitivity in the general population is unknown and probably low. Sulfite sensitivity is seen more frequently in asthmatic than in nonasthmatic people.

PRECAUTIONS (ALSO SEE WARNINGS):

Treatment should be limited to relatively small areas of the body at one time since some patients experience a transient skin reddening and a mild burning sensation, which does not preclude treatment.

Pregnancy Category C: Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with topical hydroquinone. It is also not known whether hydroquinone can cause fetal harm when used topically on a pregnant woman or affect reproductive capacity. It is not known to what degree, if any, topical hydroquinone is absorbed systemically. Topical hydroquinone should be used on pregnant women only when clearly indicated.

Nursing Mothers: It is not known whether topical hydroquinone is absorbed or excreted in human milk. Caution is advised when topical hydroquinone is used by a nursing mother.

Pediatric Usage: Safety and effectiveness in children below the age of 12 years have not been established. Use of the product should be discontinued if hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients is noted.

Healthy and Delicious Beverages for Radiant Skin

11.01.2017, 16:01 CDT | Posted In: Signs of Aging, Health & Beauty, Skin Care

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

With the chilly season closing in, you may be switching out your iced teas for pumpkin spice lattes, and hey, who are we to judge!

While you certainly deserve to indulge once in a while, too many of these popular drinks may leave your skin looking a little dull.

One thing that iced teas, soda pops, and creamy steamy drinks have in common is that they are all filled with sugar. Sugar can change the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin,1 leaving you susceptible to skin that ages faster - no thanks! The downside of hot Fall beverages, like the beloved pumpkin spice latte, is that they contain sugar and whipped cream, which isn't good news for your skin or your waistline.

Fortunately for you, we have put together three popular DIY drinks, cold and hot included, that are completely "clean" yet taste just as good as the original!

Paleo Pumpkin Spice Latte

Pumpkin spice lattes just taste like Fall, and the cooler months wouldn't be the same without them.

This recipe* tastes so decadent that you won't even miss the naughty ingredients! Instead of milk, this recipe uses thick and creamy coconut milk, which is not only delicious, it's filled with healthy fats to hydrate your skin cells from the inside out, soothe skin, and leave it glowing. Stevia is used instead of refined sugar, and because it’s perfectly sweet, you won’t even miss the sugar! Pumpkin purée, the signature ingredient in this beauty, is jam-packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants to leave your skin beautiful and youthful-looking!

Iced Green Tea with Coconut Water

If you've never had a sweetened iced tea from a coffee shop chain, then we fear you may have been living on a deserted island for the last few years, or maybe you're just healthier than the rest of us!

While they sound healthy, these iced teas are filled with sugary lemonade and refined syrup that counteracts the benefits of the iced tea.

Green tea contains a high concentration of antioxidants. These antioxidants help defend against free radicals that contribute to the look of aging skin.

This gem of a recipe* uses a strong batch of green tea to ensure you really get the most out of its powerful antioxidants, and coconut water to provide you with wonderful electrolytes. Lemon adds a refreshing burst of vitamin C, and, if you like your iced tea sweet, we recommend adding a dash (or more!) of stevia.

Dreamy Almond Hot Chocolate

If you're not a tea or coffee fan, then chances are we'll find you curled up with a hot mug of cocoa, especially on chilly evenings.

Hot chocolate deserves to be rich and creamy though, and this recipe doesn't skimp!* Creamy almond milk provides healthy omega 3s, and pure cocoa provides skin lovin' antioxidants, and it will lift your spirits too! Our favorite sweetener, stevia, adds guilt-free sweetness, while a dab of coconut whipped cream adds the perfect finishing touch!

Not only are these drinks a delightful treat to enjoy any time of the day, but they won’t leave you feeling sluggish and bloated. Enjoy without the guilt!

Difference Between Retinol, Retinoids, and Tretinoin

10.11.2017, 11:27 CDT | Posted In: Acne & Blemishes, Lines & Wrinkles, Signs of Aging, Texture, Health & Beauty, Products, Skin Care

Woman with molecule

Retinoids are a class of synthetic and naturally occurring Vitamin A compounds and derivatives that include retinol and retinoic acid, which are naturally occurring in humans.1 Some retinoids, such as retinoic acid (tretinoin), are available with a prescription only. Other retinoids, such as retinols, are cosmetic. Retinoids work to provide smoother-looking skin.1

Retinoic acid: a prescription-only treatment

Tretinoin is the generic name for synthetic, first-generation all-trans-retinoic acid.1 Topical tretinoin first arrived on the dermatology scene in the 1960s.1,2 It is a prescription drug approved to treat acne,5,6 and in a few FDA-approved products, to treat fine facial wrinkling,7 limited psoriasis, and other conditions.1,† Patients who use tretinoin may experience skin irritation and photosensitivity in the first few weeks of treatment, which can sometimes be counteracted with less frequent application or a less potent strength.2 Obagi offers topical tretinoin in prescription-only creams and gels*:

Retinol: a cosmetic treatment

Topical retinol has been used in cosmetic skin care products for more than 30 years2 to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Generally a well-tolerated treatment, retinol users typically experience minimal skin redness and irritation.2 A plethora of cosmetic creams, gels, and serums contain retinol. Obagi offers 2 concentrations of retinols to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In a clinical study, patients reported a noticable difference in 1 to 3 weeks.3,**:

  • Obagi Retinol 0.5%—an entrapped form of retinol is gradually released, improving the look of uneven skin texture and minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with minimal irritation.2,4
  • Obagi Retinol 1.0%—a higher concentration retinol formula improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture with minimal irritation.2,4

Contact a skin care physician to see which retinoid is right for your skin.

The exact method of action of tretinoin is unknown.

*RENOVA (tretinoin cream) 0.02%, Obagi® Tretinoin Cream 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%, and Tretinoin Gel 0.05% prescriptions may not be available in certain states. Please check with your physician.

Tretinoin Cream and Gel

Indication

Tretinoin Gel 0.05% and Tretinoin Cream (0.1%, 0.05% and 0.025%) are indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris.

Important Safety Information

If a reaction suggesting sensitivity or chemical irritation occurs, discontinue use of Tretinoin.

The skin of some patients may become dry, red, or exfoliated while using Tretinoin and patients may need to temporarily reduce the amount or frequency of application, or discontinue use temporarily or altogether.

Tretinoin should not be used on eczematous or sunburned skin due to potential for severe irritation. Patients should protect their skin from sun, tanning lights, and extreme wind or cold. Use of effective broad spectrum sunscreen products and protective clothing over treated areas is recommended when exposure cannot be avoided.

Caution should be exercised when using Tretinoin with products that have a strong drying effect, particularly those containing benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol, or salicylic acid.

Tretinoin Gel should be used with caution in patients allergic to fish due to potential for allergic reactions to fish protein; patients who develop pruritus or urticaria should contact their healthcare providers.

Tretinoin should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus, and it should be used with caution in nursing women.

The safety and efficacy of Tretinoin have not been established in the treatment of patients younger than 10 years of age (gel) and 12 years of age (cream).

The most common adverse reactions are dry skin, peeling/scaling/flaking skin, skin burning sensation, and erythema. In some subjects the skin-related adverse reactions persisted throughout the treatment period.

RENOVA (tretinoin cream) 0.02% is a serious prescription medication that may reduce but will not remove fine facial wrinkles. RENOVA 0.02% WILL NOT REPAIR SKIN, ELIMINATE WRINKLES, OR REVERSE AGING.

Important Safety Information

  • Do not use RENOVA if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant or are nursing.
  • RENOVA should be used as part of a total skin care program that includes avoiding direct sunlight (by using protective clothing and broad spectrum sunscreens with a minimum SPF of 15) and using other moisturizing facial creams without tretinoin, the active ingredient in RENOVA. It is not known if RENOVA is safe or effective if used longer than 52 weeks.
  • RENOVA is for use on the skin only. Avoid contact with the eyes, ears, nose, or mouth.
  • You should not use RENOVA if you are sunburned, are highly sensitive to the sun, have eczema, have irritated skin, or are allergic to any of the ingredients in RENOVA.
  • Tell your doctor about any other medications or skin creams you are using. RENOVA increases your sensitivity to sunlight and should not be used with other medications or skin care products that increase sensitivity to sunlight.
  • RENOVA can irritate the skin. Most patients experience one or more local skin reactions, including peeling, dry skin, burning/stinging, itching, and redness. These are usually mild to moderate and occur early in treatment, but can be severe. Contact your doctor if the side effects are a problem.

7 Surprising Ways You May Be Aging Your Skin

10.11.2017, 11:25 CDT | Posted In: Dry Skin, Lines & Wrinkles, Prevention & Protection, Signs of Aging, Health & Beauty, Products, Skin Care

Signs of aging skin

When it comes to keeping your skin radiant and youthful-looking, your go-to is probably a good skincare range of products. While we certainly recommend good quality skincare products to address the appearance of skin aging, you may be surprised to learn that it's just one factor, out of many, that contributes to a more youthful-looking complexion.

Keep reading to learn more about what may be aging your skin, and how you can counteract these factors so you can enjoy the glowing, healthy-looking skin you deserve!

1. Skimping on the SPF

Many of us reserve the SPF for our beach tote, when we'll be lounging seaside for a few hours, but the sun's rays are just as strong whether you're on the beach or in your car.

If there's one thing you can do every day to help prevent premature skin aging, it would be applying a broad spectrum SPF of at least 30, either alone or under your makeup.* Don't forget your neck and ears, as well as your hands, which are actually one of the first areas to give your age away!

Check out our sunscreen range here.

2. Not drinking enough water

Okay okay, you've heard this one enough, but then why aren't you doing it? We get that water can be a little boring, and you'd rather be sipping on an iced coffee, but water is essential for hydrating your skin and body from the inside out. A lack of water will dehydrate your skin and put you at risk for dryness, which can eventually result in fine lines and wrinkles.

To spruce up your water, try a refreshing spa water recipe with some fruit,**and be sure to share with your friends!

3. Sleeping on your stomach

You may be shaking your head in confusion at this one, but sleeping on your stomach or on your side can increase your chances of getting wrinkles. If you've ever woken up with a "sleep wrinkle" after spending the night with your face pressed into your pillow, then you know what we mean. Over time, these temporary wrinkles may decide to stick around.

Try sleeping on your back, and ensure your face is deeply hydrated before hitting the sheets. This allows your face to move around more freely with less risk of developing wrinkles.

4. Spending too much time on the couch

We all love a good movie binge, but making it a habit to lounge on the couch, rather than getting in your workout, can take a toll not only on your health, but on the appearance of your skin.

When you work out, you increase circulation in your skin, which helps to keep it luminous and glowing. A good workout may also help you sleep better, which allows body tissues, including the skin, to renew and repair.

You don't need heavy gym equipment to benefit either! Just 30 minutes of low impact exercise such as walking is all you need to get started on a healthier path. Aim for at least four times a week.

5. Using the wrong products

Many people assume they know their skin type, but without having your skin assessed by a skin care professional, how can you really be sure? Just because you break out, doesn’t mean you have an oily complexion; it could mean you have combination skin. So if you use products aimed at drying up your blemishes, they may affect areas that actually need more moisture and vice versa.

Often, skin issues can easily be remedied by making the switch to products targeted towards your specific skin type. Here’s a guide on the 5 factors that determine skin type, and a skin care professional can help you find yours. You can then start a new skin care routine, and achieve the results you deserve.

6. Leaving your makeup on at night

Don’t feel too bad if this sounds familiar, but just try to not make it a habit. Sleeping with your makeup on can dry out your skin and expose it to free radicals, which are the skin’s worst enemy when it comes to aging. Makeup can also clog your pores, so you may wake up with an annoying blemish or two, as well as an overall dull complexion.

Keep some makeup wipes next to your bed for when cleansing your face is simply not an option. Otherwise, we highly recommend our cleansers that work to remove makeup and impurities, while still maintaining your skin’s delicate moisture balance.

7. Eating unhealthy foods

Last, but not least, that old saying “you are what you eat” couldn’t be more true. The proof is in your state of health and the appearance of your skin. Fill your body with processed, fatty foods, and your skin will look dull and age quicker. But fill your body with fresh, whole foods rich in healthy fats, nutrients, and antioxidants, and be amazed at how your complexion will appear luminous and more youthful.

If you follow these tips, you will see a difference in your skin. The trick is to keep up with them and have lots of patience, but the results are well and truly worth it!

Let us know in the comments below if you have any additional lifestyle tips that help maintain healthy-looking skin.

*Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or higher together with a comprehensive sun protection program including wearing sun protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, and avoiding the sun between the hours of 10am - 2pm may help reduce the risk of premature skin aging.

Exfoderm VS Exfoderm Forte: Which One for My Skin?

09.05.2017, 12:48 CDT | Posted In: Dry Skin, Lines & Wrinkles, Signs of Aging, Texture, Health & Beauty, Skin Care

Exfoderm VS Exfoderm Forte: Which One for My Skin?

From sugar scrubs to salt scrubs, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), choosing a facial exfoliator can be challenging with all the different options out there! So which one should you use?

The type of exfoliator used should be based on skin type, sensitivity of skin, and frequency of use. It’s best to visit a skin care professional to get an accurate skin assessment and a recommended protocol.

If your skin is in need of lightweight, daily exfoliation, you should ask your skin care professional about one of our Exfoderm® products. These exfoliating lotions work to remove dead skin and other debris that could be contributing to a dull, lackluster complexion. Not only will your skin look more radiant, but these products can also help to smooth uneven skin texture, resulting in an overall healthier-looking complexion. These exfoliators are absorbed into the skin, leaving a smooth, silky finish.

You may be wondering why there are two Exfoderm options. The answer is simple - one is for normal to dry skin and the other is for normal to oily skin. They also contain different key exfoliating ingredients. Read on to learn more about the differences and benefits of each product.

Exfoderm

Exfoderm is recommended for dry or sensitive skin types. The greatest benefit of this lightweight lotion is its ability to promote natural skin cell turnover, helping to achieve a more youthful-looking, rejuvenated complexion. It exfoliates effectively, yet gently, removing impurities and promoting a brighter complexion.

The key ingredient is 6% phytic acid, which is a gentler acid that’s responsible for exfoliating the skin. Glycerin soothes the skin and provides deep hydration to minimize irritation.

Apply this lotion in the morning, and follow with a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

Exfoderm Forte*

Exfoderm Forte is recommended for oiler skin types, as it contains the following AHA key ingredients: 6% glycolic acid and 4% and lactic acid. These AHAs deeply exfoliate the skin, reduce oiliness and blemishes, and smooth uneven skin texture. They also minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. Exfoderm Forte also contains glycerin to soothe and hydrate the skin.

Apply this product in the morning, and follow with a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

We hope this blog helped clear things up a bit (no pun intended). The good news is that no matter what skin type you have, one of these products will work for you. If you already use one of the Exfoderm exfoliators, let us know which one and please share how it’s working for you!

*Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
