How the Nu-Derm System Works to Transform Your Skin Cells
The Obagi Nu-Derm System offers a complete, convenient protocol for treatment at home. Below is a standard protocol for how the products in the system are used. Your Physician and Skin Care Specialist will design a specific protocol that incorporates dosing, frequency and treatment objectives for your skin.

STEP PRODUCT APPLICATION
MORNING ROUTINE Prepare A mild gel-based cleanser that gently removes impurities, oil and makeup to leave skin clean and fresh. 1 GENTLE CLEANSER
or 		Wash your face with the recommended cleanser, rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry. Avoid rubbing your skin with a towel.
A gel-based cleanser that removes impurities, oil and make-up to leave even the oiliest skin clean and fresh. FOAMING GEL
Adjusts the pH of the skin for increased penetration of the system ingredients. 2 TONER Put the Toner on a cotton pad and apply to your entire face. Do not rinse.
Correct A topical prescription treatment that includes 4% hydroquinone to correct hyperpigmentation (discoloration) and improve and even skin tone. 3 CLEAR Measure 1/2 –1 gram and apply evenly to your entire face, avoiding the eyes, extending to the hairline, over the ears and ending with a feathering motion.
Note: If you have dark skin, use Clear on your entire face once a day, preferably in the morning, and apply at night only on the darkest areas. Once you achieve satisfying results, use Clear only as needed.
A plant acid (3% phytic acid) that removes old skin cells while promoting new skin cells for a lighter, brighter complexion. 4 EXFODERM
or 		Measure 1/2 –1 gram and apply evenly to your entire face, avoiding the eyelid area. Massage until the cream is completely absorbed.
An alpha hydroxy acid (6% glycolic acid, 4% lactic acid) that removes old skin cells while promoting new skin cells for a lighter, brighter, firmer complexion for skin that needs deeper exfoliation. EXFODERM FORTE
Protect A sunscreen with 9% micronized zinc oxide and 7.5% octinoxate that helps to protect newly transformed, younger looking skin. 6 HEALTHY SKIN PROTECTION SPF 35 Apply in the morning under your makeup. Reapply often while in the sun. Note: Always avoid prolonged direct sun exposure. Remember to practice sun protection daily.

Stimulate A topical prescription treatment that contains 4% hydroquinone to target hyperpigmented (discolored) areas of the skin and increase the penetration of the active ingredients of the system. 5 BLENDER Measure 1/2 gram of Blender—As directed by your physician, apply Blender and Tretinoin evenly to your entire face. Apply around eye area as directed. Note: Avoid the corners of the lips and creases around the nose.
