ELASTIderm Product Redefines Eye Care Category
Long Beach, CA — February 23, 2007 — Obagi Medical Products, Inc. (NASD:OMPI)
recently announced the introduction of ELASTIderm Eye Cream, the first true eye-
therapy product clinically proven to produce insoluble elastin, decrease the
number of wrinkles and increase functional elasticity of the skin. Although most
treatment products to date utilize moisturizing ingredients to help reduce the
appearance of lines, ELASTIderm utilizes a patent-pending bi-mineral complex
with malonic acid to offer a superior approach to anti-aging treatment without
the use of line-plumping moisturizers. The clinical data behind ELASTIderm’s
science was presented in the Poster Session of the 65th annual meeting of the
American Academy of Dermatology, February 2nd – 6th in Washington DC.

Clinically shown to demonstrate a 46% increase in functional elasticity after
nine weeks of use, ELASTIderm works as a true therapy to visibly reduce the
appearance of periorbital lines.

Formulated with a novel, bi-mineral complex that works to replenish and cross
link elastin to support collagen and give skin functional elasticity, the
scientific data revealed the patent-pending complex was effective in improving
the elasticity of photoaged skin and visibly reducing periorbital lines. A
significant increase in elasticity was achieved within only two weeks and
elasticity continued to increase over an eight-week period. Importantly, the
increase in elasticity was independent of moisturization, indicating the effects
of the bi-mineral complex were not simply the consequence of increased
hydration.
ELASTIderm is available in either a cream or gel formula, depending on patient
preference, and can be applied in the morning and at night. ELASTIderm Eye
Cream and Gel are available only in dermatolgists’ and plastic surgeons’ offices
nationwide.
