October 25, 2005 (Long Beach, CA) – Obagi Medical Products, Inc.
(Obagi) a leader in specialty skin health products, announced
today that its Board of Directors has named Steven R. Carlson as
the Company’s President and CEO. Carlson, who joined the
Company in March 2005 as the President, brings a 25 year record
of building successful pharmaceutical companies, leading brands
and creating new products. In this expanded role, he will work
closely with Austin McNamara, who will continue as Chairman of
the Board of Directors.
“Steve joined Obagi Medical Products at a critical stage in our
development. He has brought a unique combination of outstanding
strategic thinking, exceptional senior management skills, and
deep industry experience, particularly for bringing new product
technologies to market,” said McNamara. “Steve’s rapid
demonstration and success in accelerating our new product
development efforts and establishing strategic corporate
alliances, led to our decision to expand Steve’s
responsibilities to President and Chief Executive Officer.”

Carlson began his career with 15 years at Allergan, where his
management experience included Senior Vice President of
Marketing and General Manager for the Botox Global business,
building the first $100 million of revenue under the Botox
brand. More recently, Carlson has held senior executive
positions with successful start-up ventures including ReVance
Therapeutics (formerly Essentia Biosystems), and Orquest Inc.
(acquired by Johnson and Johnson). His experience includes a
broad number of medical industries such as Dermatology, Plastic
Surgery, Orthopedics and Neurology. Carlson received his MBA
from Pepperdine University and has a BS in Biology and Chemistry
from the University of Minnesota
With the promotion of Carlson, Obagi Medical Products also
announces two additional key management promotions:

Curtis A. Cluff has been promoted to the position of Executive
Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations. His
responsibilities will include all international sales and
marketing activities, in addition to developing strategic
relationships. Cluff joined Obagi in January 2002 as Chief
Financial Officer, and has 14 years of experience including
senior management roles in operations and finance. He gained a
deep understanding of market development and distribution while
serving as the senior financial officer for Merisel Inc, then a
$5 billion technology distribution giant.

Stephen A. Garcia has been promoted to Chief Financial
Officer. Garcia’s responsibilities will include all finance,
accounting and information technology activities. Having joined
Obagi in July 2003, Garcia has been serving as the Company’s
Vice President of Finance. He brings extensive financial and
accounting expertise, with 15 years of senior management roles
in Finance and IT. Prior to joining Obagi, he served in senior
finance roles, including 5 years as CFO for Incomnet
Communications and CCC Global Com. Garcia maintains his CPA
credential, and began his career in audit and advisory services
with Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
